So here you can get a first impression of the dress that I made for this years Wave-Gotik-Treffen in Leipzig.

I wore it for the victorian picnic which took place in Clara Zetkin Park on friday.
Decission for this years dress was easy since 2013 is the 200th anniversary of the Völkerschlacht (battle of the nations) against Napoleon. So it had to be an empire dress of course.
Fabric for my dress is silk taffeta and a silk chiffon 'overgown'. I altered the pattern for the overgown. Did you see Emma with Gwyneth Paltrow in the main role? It's inspired by her beautiful ball gown.
I really wanted to make a matching outfit for my boyfriend too and most time I worked on his clothes so that in the end there was only little time for my own dress. So I decided to machine sew it and finished it in a hurry (in fact I made the last seam and the sleeves during the festival) So it didn't turn out as nice as I wanted it to have. I think it could have fitted me better. I think I will take it to the dry cleaner soon (hoping it will become clean again) and then take it apart completely and resew it and if possible ad some trimming too. So I hope I will get it finished until october when we will visit Leipzig again.

The outfit of my boyfriend didn't get finished also unfortunately. But I decided not to finish it because I bought a really good fabric for the jacket and didn't want to ruin it since I was in a hurry. I think I will handsew it instead.

I had to use a wig again for the hairstyle (because my hair is pink) and pinned a silk taffeta band into it. It didn't turn out as nice as I thought. But I think ok for a festival. ;-)

So hopefully I can post better pictures of me AND my boyfriend in october.
